The challenge
A debt collection agency wanted to help business owners with an unpaid invoice faster, while spending most of its time on claims that actually stand a chance.
Requests came in through a general contact form, and the agency then had to work out for itself where each one stood.
What I built
A claim check on the agency’s own website. A visitor goes through three steps:
- Upload the invoice For a PDF, the tool reads the invoice date, amount, debtor and VAT by itself.
- Check the details The visitor fills in what’s missing, such as the payment term and country.
- Get a score straight away From 0 to 100%, with an explanation for each factor: limitation period, payment term, debtor details, VAT, contractual basis, country and amount.
Right below the score are the next steps: start collection, request free legal advice or ask for a call back. The analysis can also be downloaded.
Behind the scenes
The agency sees every analysis in its own dashboard and manages the settings there. Privacy is built in: data is deleted automatically after 30 days, IP addresses are never stored in readable form, and rate limits keep abuse out.
What it makes possible
The claim check runs live on the agency’s homepage. A business owner with an unpaid invoice gets an answer within minutes, day or night.
And every request that comes in is already filled in and assessed.
